These plastic nuts are used to join the edges of two panels. They are commonly used by Toyota to join the wheel arch lining to the edge of the wheel arch. The s-shape of the clip allows the fastener to wrap around both edges before a screw is inserted to secure the clip and secure join the two panels. The insert is not threaded and so typically uses a coarse threaded screw or bolt to cut into the fastener.
