These are a chunky push fit plastic fastener with an integrated rubber seal. They are used on lots of different models in the VW group to attach door cards and interior trim panels. The head of the clip slides onto a retainer on the trim panel. When the clip is pushed into the hole in the bodywork, it expands and locks into place.
