These are the plastic hole plugs used by Volkswagen on the new Transporter T7 (2023 on). They fit into an M8 threaded hole and so are also suitable as an alternative for the earlier Transit Custom and the standard Transit. Each bolt is a single mould with an integrated double rubber seal to ensure that the hole remains watertight and weatherproof.
Ford recommend plastic fittings in order to avoid corrosion or the seizure of the bolts in the holes. The plastic material eliminates any chance of galvanic corrosion, overtightening (which damages the seal) and damage to the paintwork.
